Over de functie

We are looking for a precise and driven Financial Accountant to strengthen our financial administration and lead the accounts payable/receivable team. You ensure strong processes, a smoothly operating team, and help elevate our financial organization to the next level.

Wat ga jij doen?

What will you do?

You will oversee the accurate financial handling of complex products and material flows across our trading activities in the paper Industry. You lead the accounts payable/receivable team and ensure a structured, reliable administration. You monitor process quality, support the team in daily activities, and contribute to a smooth month-end closing.

A selection of the tasks you will take on:

• Leading, coaching and motivating the accounts payable/receivable team.

• Actively driving people management and team development.

• Supporting the team with processing sales invoices, self-billing and resolving discrepancies.

• Reviewing and approving credit and debit notes.

• Reviewing commission calculations and related invoicing.

• Ensuring an accurate month-end close in line with internal procedures and applicable regulations.

• Assessing and following up on IFRS and SOX controls.

• Annually evaluating and updating Finance & Control procedures.

• Supporting the Financial Controller with various financial analyses and reports.

• Acting as back-up for the Financial Accountant CM/GL.

• Taking initiative in process improvements and contributing to the further professionalization of the finance organization.

What do we offer?

A full-time employment contract (40 hours per week) with the following benefits:

• A gross monthly salary between €4100 and €5500 (fulltime), depending on age and experience.

• 25 vacation days and 13 additional reduction-of-working-hours (ATV) days (based on a 40-hour workweek).

• A temporary contract with the prospect of a permanent position.

• A laptop and the option to work from home, including a home-office allowance of €2.45 per day.

• Travel allowance of €0.23 per km (up to 50 km one-way).

Smurfit Westrock Paper Services (SWPS) is a multifunctional service unit with several departments providing sales, supply chain, IT&IS, and financial services within the international Smurfit Westrock organization.

Ben jij wie wij zoeken?

What we expect from you

• A completed bachelor’s degree in business economics, Accountancy, Finance or a related field.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in an international (trading) environment.

• Leadership experience (preferred).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), SAP and SAP-BI.

• Knowledge of HFM (preferred).

• Familiarity with IFRS and SOX standards (preferred).

• Fluency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

• A customer-, service- and results-oriented approach.

• Strong resilience and attention to detail.

• Ability to set priorities and take initiative.

• Strong analytical thinking skills.

• Excellent communication skills.
